A tragic road accident has occurred in the Kayole area on the Naivasha-Nakuru highway, involving a Pwani University bus and a 14-seater matatu.
Unfortunately, 14 people have been confirmed dead as a result of the collision.
The bus was carrying more than 30 students who were travelling to Eldoret to participate in sports competitions.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the bus collided with a 14-seater matatu before it overturned.
As a result of the accident, many of the students were injured and some were rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment.
It is unclear at this time how many people were injured or the extent of their injuries.
The cause of the accident is yet to be officially confirmed, although eye witnesses have suggested that the accident may have been caused by brake failure.
The investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to be released in due course.
