Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa has been arrested.
The outspoken FKF head has been at loggerheads with the government over leadership of football federation in the country.
Nick Mwendwa was accused of misappropriation of funds amounting to Sh 244.6 million. The Ministry of sports had asked the auditor general to help in auditing all federation accounts.
Mwendwa was arrested by officers drawn from Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

FKF communications officer Ken Okaka said that Mwendwa has been taken to DCI Headquarters along Kiambu road and reasons for his arrest to be communicated soon.
This comes a day the team led by retired judge Aaron Ringera took charge of the struggling football federation under the helm of Nick Mwendwa.
The push and pull between FKF chairman Nick Mwendwa and the Ministry has also attracted FIFA, which threatened to ban Kenya.
Nick Mwenda Thursday afternoon in a press conference stood his ground saying he is still in charge of the struggling federation.
“I reject the appointment of the 15-member committee to run FKF operations on the back of graft investigations. We won’t accept that decision by the Sports ministry,” he said.
