Deputy President William Ruto has announced plans to name running mate before Monday deadline.
Speaking Tuesday morning at his Karen residence, DP Ruto said Kenya Kwanza Alliance will honor IEBC set deadline and will unveil his deputy ahead of August polls.

“I want to assure you that as Kenya Kwanza and as a candidate in the next General election we will have our running mate forwarded to the IEBC before the deadline,” Ruto said.
IEBC had set Monday, May 16, 2022 as the deadline for all presidential aspirants and governors to name their deputies.
For Kenya Kwanza, Tharaka Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi are poised for the position with Meru Senator in the lead.
For opponents, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, Martha Karua is leading alongside Kalonzo Musyoka, Peter Kenneth and Sabina Chege with running mate selection panel currently ongoing.
