The body of the late interior designer, Jeff Mwathi is today being exhumed in his parents’ home in Likia, Njoro sub-county, Nakuru county.
This is after the DCI boss, Amin Mohammed, made the announcement following developments from the ongoing investigation.
Jeff Mwathi, a 23- year old interior designer, allegedly fell to his death from the 12th floor of the Redwood Apartments in Kasarani on February,22,2023.
He had spent the day with popular mugithi singer DJ Fatxo, who, alongside his cousin, driver and two women, became persons of interest in the case.
Jeff was to do some work for the mugithi singe hence the reason for their meeting that day.
Initially, the death of Jeff Mwathi had been ruled as a suicide, which caused an uproar online as netizens demanded that DCI look into it.
The DCI took over the case from the Kasarani police and dismissed claims of suicide, saying Jeff had been killed before being thrown down from the Redwood Apartments’ rooftop.
The DCI boss ordered that the body be exhumed on Friday March,31,2023, for a fresh autopsy after finding gaps in the mysterious death of the interior designer and the possible involvement of a third party, saying that they needed the body to help their investigation.
Government pathologist, Johansen Oduor, is set to conduct the autopsy.
