Former National Assembly speaker Francis Ole Kaparo is staring at trouble after wife of 40 years filed for divorce.

According to Daily Nation, Mary Mpereina Kaparo has filed for divorce, accusing her husband of cohabiting with another woman in a home in Kiambu.

Mrs Mpereina reportedly accused Mr Kaparo of cohabiting with woman identified as Korere Paulata in Eden Ville in Kiambu.

She alleged that Kaparo once said he is now married to Paulata and acknowledged previously having affairs with women unknown to her.

“I have been severely affected by the respondent’s inhuman treatment, dishonesty, and immoral character and eventual desertion of the matrimonial home,” says Mpereina are among grounds for divorce.

Defending her cause of her divorce, she explained that, “On several occasions, the respondent disappeared from the matrimonial home for a long period without any explanation at all, and he eventually went away.’’

However, Mr Kaparo counter attacked saying it his his wife, Mpereina, who has been cruel to him.

“The respondent (Mr Kaparo) denies the allegations of cruelty, desertion and adultery and further avers that it is the petitioner who has been guilty of cruelty, adultery and desertion as herein specifically demonstrated,” Mr Kaparo counters in his replying affidavit.

In his defence, Kaparo stated a time when he was hospitalized for five months and his wife never visited.
