Kedong ranch, that was thought to be owned by former president Uhuru Kenyatta , located at the boarder of Nakuru and Narok has created tension among residents as youths attempted destroy the fence.
Earlier this year His Excellency Ruto had promised the community that they would get justice for the land during his visit to Narok because the Kedong ranch has been a local issue with the Maasai community claiming ownership .
This being the second time in less than a week for the Kenyatta’s name being drugged in the political imbalance going on in the country, the scenarios are starting to raise concerns among Kenyans.
County commissioner Isaac Masinde stated that, “We received reports that some members of the youth from the neighboring community planned to invade the estimated 75,000 acre of land and destroy property, thus deployed a team that prevented the destruction”
It was established that two groups were in dispute over money collected from lorries after the sale of sand .
They were armed with rungus and swords near the Ketraco junction on the Narok-Maai Mahiu road .
No casualties have been reported whatsoever on either side, calmness has been restored in the area and police officers from Naivasha and Narok East are on the ground.
