The Kenya Kwanza coalition has named seven individuals who will spearhead the bi-partisan talks the opposition.
Adressing a press conference at State House on Tuesday, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa stated that the legislators were picked following discussions during an earlier Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group meeting.
The seven-member team comprises five Members of the National Assembly and two Senators; Boni Khalwale (Kakamega County Senator), George Murugara (MP Tharaka), Esther Okenyuri (Nominated Senator), Mwangi Mutuse (MP Kibwezi West Constituency), Lydia Haika (MP Taita Taveta), Hillary Sigie (Senator Bomet County) and Adan Keynan (MP Eldas).
The team will represent the government in the proposed bi-partisan talks with the seven-member team that was also announced by Azimio la Umoja coalition leader Raila Odinga last week.

They include ODM SG Edwin Sifuna (Nairobi Senator), Ledama Ole Kina (Narok Senator) Enoch Wambua (Kitui Senator) Otiende Amollo (MP Rarieda), David P’Kosing (MP Pokot South), Millie Odhiambo (MP Suba North) and Amina Mnyanzi (MP Malindi).
The team was picked during the Azimio la Umoja parliamentary group meeting in Machakos County.
This was after Raila accepted an appeal from President William Ruto to call off the Azimio countrywide demonstrations.
The President said that he is willing to engage the opposition on a bi-partisan approach to find solutions.
