The African Cup of Nations (AFCON) is coming to an end after thriller performances marred by drama, anxiety, and everything African.
The hosts Cameroon ran out of their luck and home advantage after facing off Egypt’s Pharaos in the semifinals where Liverpool star helped his team in the penalty shoot out.
Egyptian goal keeper Abou Gabal saved two crucial penalties after barren draw in the 90 minutes playing time and extra time. The two saves gave Egypt a comfortable win.
Cameroon will now settle it out with Burkina Faso in their third place play off as Senegal face Egypt in the finals.
This means that Liverpool stars, Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane, will face off on Sunday for what Cameroon legend Samuel Eto’o referred to as ‘war’.
The two will face each other ahead of other two-legged play-off between Egypt and Senegal as they contest for a place in Qatar World Cup.
