Former Kakamega Senator and UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala has asked Opposition to end their weekly planned protests.
Speaking on Citizen TV Tuesday night, Malala said Kenya is sending a bad message to the world as businesses are affected in Nairobi.
“If they conduct maandamano in Nairobi, the public perception and image they are portraying to the international community are that tourists will stop coming to Kenya. The effects of this maandamano affects people up to Maasai Mara,” Malala said.
“Stop these maandamano shenanigans and let us build Kenya. We are trying to rebuild this government but these people what they want is simply a handshake,” he added.
Malala also noted that Azimio camp are calling them at night begging for handshake while demonstrating during the day.
“We want to assure them that this time round we are very focused. The people ( Azimio) talk to us at night and what they are bargaining for is simply a handshake,” he stated.
Azimio camp is now focused on weekly protests, Mondays and Thursdays, in a bid to askl the government to open the servers and reduce the cost of living.
