Kenyans are demanding the government to honor its promise on rewarding vigilant Kenyans who led to the recapture of three terror fugitives.

Musharaf Abdallah Akhulunga alias Shukri, Mohamed Ali Abikar and Joseph Juma Odhiambo alias Yusuf were arrested by detectives in Mwingi East as they approached Ukasi.

The arrests came after vigilant Kenyan tipped off security agencies.

The man who saved the day, Paul Mulati, said the three were spotted at Endau Malalani ward without knowing which mode of transport they used to reach there.

“Walikuwa na ujanja ingine kwa sababu walikuwa wanaenda zig zag…mara wanavuka barabara wanaenda pande hii…wanatembea kwa msitu, wakiona hiyo msitu imeshikana sana wanaruka tena wanaenda pande hiyo ingine ya barabara,” Mulati said.

The brave Mulati mobilised Kenyans and captured them since he believed the three suspects were not armed.

Kenyans are now demanding Cabinet Secretary for Interior Fred Matiang’i to honor the promise the government made.

PRISON BREAK! A reward of Sh60 Million will be offered to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the following three terror suspects, who escaped from Kamiti Maximum Security Prison today at 1am. #FichuakwaDCI 0800722203 pic.twitter.com/L0PNsMl7bB

While speaking to the press Thursday evening after returning the escapees to their Kamiti Maximum prison cells, Matiang’i dodged the question on when and who to give the Ksh 60 million reward.

“No…no…no, we are not going there at the moment. Let us not be speculative about this. We are going to work on this meticulously as my colleagues have said.”

Ksh. 60 million was bait used to keep you interested and alert.

Whoever made that call & gave out the location of those fugitives should be given their full compensation(Ksh. 60 Million) and provided with police protection.
