Reprieve for former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko as the court clears him to run for office.

The Mombasa Court Wednesday morning asked the Independence Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to allow Sonko run for Governor citing lack of reason to deny him.
The court also directed IEBC to gazette Sonko ahead of August polls.
“They violated the Constitution and rushed with the announcement,” the court ruled.
After reporting IEBC to Courts, Sonko can now breathe a sigh of relief after three bench judge that was appointed by Chief Justice Martha Koome decided to halt printing of ballots pending petition.
