“Tupambane na Hali Yetu” Fena Gitu Says After Visiting MCSK Offices

Fenamenal woman Fena Gitu has opened up about her visit to the Music Copyright Society of Kenya officers.

Fena was disappointed in what she said “tupambane na hali yetu wasanii”.

MCSK for the longest time has been blamed for misappropriation of funds meant for artists and the debate of overhaul of the society has been initiated.

Fena added that the guard must be changed and she is willing to participate in any way the society can have musicians in their board.

“I asked about that and I was told there are artists on the board. Maybe it’s time for a new guard, and if there’s a role to be played I’m willing to take it on,” she tweeted.

The push and pull between MCSK and artists goes way back to early 2000. While speaking to CTA on YouTube, Nonini Mgenge who was once in the board said that bringing changes to MCSK is hard nut to crack.

Artists have been receiving peanuts with some getting only Ksh 2,000, and 1,500.

What do you think should be done to save the entertainment industry?
